The basics of this position:

The Faculty EMT/Paramedic Instructor will be responsible for both administrative and educational aspects of the EMT and Paramedic programs. This role involves fiscal planning, continuous program review and analysis, program development, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards set forth by COAemsp, CAAHEP, HLC, and BEMS. The instructor will also be dedicated to delivering high-quality education and maintaining program effectiveness.

What you'll do:

  • • Provide didactic and laboratory education to students within the EMT/Paramedic program.
    • Actively participate in teaching current and relevant subject material.
    • Update course profiles and syllabi, and prepare engaging lectures and lab activities, including medical and trauma assessments.
    • Evaluate the achievement of program goals and learning objectives.
    • Advise and assist potential and current EMT/Paramedic students.
    • Participate in public recruitment events to promote the program.
    • Organize and conduct student orientations to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
    • Attend departmental and advisory board meetings to contribute to program development.
    • Maintain compliance with all state of Missouri requirements, including surveys, annual reports, and self-studies.
    • Complete tasks related to the EMT/Paramedic programs as assigned.
    • Stay informed on accreditation requirements by attending annual conferences and workshops.
    • Evaluate students for competency of psychomotor and cognitive skills relevant to the subject matter

Education, experience, and other requirements:

• Current Missouri Paramedic license.
• Minimum of 5 years of active field experience at the level taught or higher.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (specific fields may include Emergency Medical Services, Health Sciences, or Education).
• Completion of an instructor-approved training course that meets or exceeds the United States Department of Transportation EMS 40-hour workshop or Fire Instructor 1 certification.
• Evidence of substitute or lead instructor teaching experience.
